Terms of use
Using this site means accepting these terms. The important one is the first: nothing here is financial advice, and this site sells nothing.

Life Insurance NZ is a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited, NZBN 9429050000017. Level 1, 12 Kōwhai Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021. hello@life-insurance.co.nz.
1. Nothing here is financial advice
Life Insurance NZ is an information site. It is not a financial adviser, a financial advice provider, a broker or an insurer, it sells no policy, and nothing on it is financial advice or a recommendation about a particular policy or insurer for you. The pages describe kinds of cover in general and the figures on them carry a source and the date we read it. When you ask for advice about your own situation, we introduce you to one named licensed Financial Advice Provider, which pays us a referral fee for introductions it accepts.
Do not act on anything on this site as though it were advice about your own situation. For that you need a licensed financial adviser. The disclosure page sets out what we are and are not, and quotes the law.
2. Nothing is sold here, and we take no payments
There is no shop, no checkout, no subscription and no card processing on this site. We do not sell, arrange, underwrite or administer any insurance policy, and we are not an agent of any insurer. If you buy insurance, you buy it from an insurer, generally through a licensed adviser, on their terms and not ours.
3. The calculator
The cover calculator is a general estimate produced by a simple rule of thumb, using figures you supply. It is not a recommendation, a quote, an offer or a statement of what cover is right for you, and it takes no account of your health, existing policies, tax position or objectives. We do not warrant that its result is suitable for any purpose, and you should not treat it as a decision.
4. Accuracy
We take care to source every figure and to say where it came from and when we read it. Even so, sources change, insurers restructure and legislation is amended. If this site and its source disagree, the source is right. Tell us and we will fix it — our editorial policy explains how we work and what we removed.
5. Introductions
If you ask us to introduce you to the partner adviser firm, we pass on what you submitted and nothing more, only after you tick the consent box. From that point the relationship is between you and them. We are not responsible for the advice they give, the products they recommend, how they handle your information after we send it, or whether they contact you. They are licensed and accountable for that; we are not, and we do not see it.
We are paid a fee by that firm for introductions it accepts. This is disclosed on every page that leads to the form, beside the form itself, and in full on the disclosure page.
6. Links to other sites
We link to insurers, to government agencies, to legislation and to other publishers so that you can check what we say. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content. No link is an affiliate link and no insurer pays us for a mention.
7. Liability
This site is provided as is, for general information. To the extent the law allows, we exclude liability for loss arising from using it or relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those Acts apply, and nothing here is intended to mislead: if you think something on this site is misleading, tell us.
Because we sell nothing, there is nothing to refund and no cancellation right to describe. If you joined the introductions waitlist or sent us a form, you can withdraw at any time by emailing us — see the privacy page.
8. Using the site
Read it, quote it, link to it and cite it. Do not scrape it to rebuild it elsewhere as though it were yours, do not submit other people’s details through our forms, and do not use the forms to send anything unlawful. We may block automated submissions and we may remove anything abusive.
9. Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, and it carries the date it was last reviewed.
